You may already be familiar with my obsession for free downloadable printables. I have collected my favorites along with my friend Carolyn Rubenstein on our shared Pinterest Board and every so often I like to share them on 8Balloons too. I hope you enjoy and it adds a bit of fun organization to your week!

Ok, so we are already into February but if you are like me, it is never too late to talk about a new planner. Since I have not been around for a month (okay, three) I will recap and show you some of my favorite 2013 planners. Can you figure out which one I am using right now? I’ll give you a hint, it starts with Kate and ends with Spade.

This being my first Thanksgiving married, I thought it high time to start some new traditions … kind of an oxymoron, but you get where I’m going with this. Each year we all sit at the family dinner table and we may (or may not) go around the table and say what we are thankful for. This year, I’d like to spice it up a bit – get the conversation going, or continue it rather. I came across this great idea called Gratitude Rolls on Pinterest through Beauty and Bedlam and immediately pinned it so as to not forget about it come Thanksgiving Day. Basically, everyone is served a roll with a piece of paper that was baked inside, sort of like a Chinese cookie with one difference – the piece of paper in this roll will have written on it something that someone at the dinner table is thankful for and its your job to figure out which piece of paper belongs to which guest! As your guests arrive, give them a small piece of paper and pen. Ask them to write something they are thankful for on it and simply bake it into the rolls you’ll be serving for dinner. Sounded like fun to me! And so that I could make sure I wasn’t going to set the house ablaze, I decided to try it out before Thanksgiving Day… What kind of Thanksgiving traditions do your family have?

Family, friends, food and fall decor – that’s what comes to mind when I think of Thanksgiving Day. It is a day to delight all of my senses! Smelling the amazing food, anticipating its delicious taste, seeing all of my loved ones gather around a beautifully decorated table, hearing all the laughter (and sometimes yelling, come on – it happens in your house too
) and feeling the love among all of us. I’m getting so excited just thinking about it! To help get myself further into the Thanksgiving spirit and to gather some decorating ideas for our own table this year, I have been searching for, and came across, some great holiday place cards - check out some of my favorites…

It has been a little over a month since I had stepped away from 8balloons and there is good reason to it. Typically, when I have stepped away for less then a week, I have always felt a little guilty. This time, it has been the longest I have gone since writing. In June I came up with another one of my crazy ideas, but this time I knew it was different. It was to create an app that could have only come to me from the love I have for my online community and blog. I knew I could bring it to fruition, which is exactly what I have been working on ever since. I cannot wait to share this creation with you, since it is because of this blog and readers I created it. There are many exciting parts to this idea that I will be sharing soon. For now, my inspiration is to continue to create, and these quotes have helped me along the way. I hope they can inspire you as well! (more…)

Happy Fall everyone! Fall has always been my favorite time of year especially with so many fun things in the mix to write about. There are many exciting projects and plans coming up in the next few months for me, including a quick trip to San Francisco in October for a little work and play. While vacationing, most people will find the tourist attractions a must see, but for me, I always look up the best stationary and letterpress studios in the area. I am making a list of the must see letterpress studios, and Hello Lucky Press is on the top of my list. Hello Lucky Press was founded in 2003 by sisters Eunice and Sabrina Moyle as a specialty letterpress printer and design studio creating wedding invitations, greeting cards and personalized stationary. They now have offices in San Francisco and London with clients ranging from Anthropologie, Kate’s Paperie, and Liberty of London.

Recently I was reminiscing about all the great memories of states I have had the opportunity to live and visit. As I was searching for a unique way to remember these memories, I came across these beautiful illustrations of all the states by Kelsey Oseid of Kelzuki. Kelsey illustrates each state according to patterns and colors found on the state’s official bird. Now I can be reminded of the below states daily and that fills my heart with happiness!
