Let Go

Susana Parada is one of my favorites when it comes to bringing me a little inspiration throughout my day! I love her style and the quotes she incorporates within each work.   Her quotes are always relatable and are very uplifting.  I wanted to know what quotes she relates best to and where she gains her inspiration. I wanted to connect with her and was so excited when she said she would do a Q&A with me! I expected a great response, but I didn’t begin to know how encouraging her words would be.
Name: Susana Parada
Location: Connecticut
Is this a full-time business for you?
No, I currently work another job as well.
Why do you choose paper as your median?
You can take a blank sheet of white paper and turn it into something beautiful and inspirational.

Life is a Beautiful Ride

What led you to this?
While in school, my note books were full of doodles instead of notes and that’s when I realized I was really studying to become an artist…regardless of the actual class I was in.
Do you ever feel “artist’s block”, and if so how do you overcome it?
So far I haven’t really hit an artist block concerning prints.  I have so many ideas in my head I just can’t seem to get them all out fast enough because I am such a perfectionist.  I will create a print and then work for hours on the colors or pencil strokes or placements until I am satisfied.  It really can slow down my production speed, but it’s all worth it in the end.

How would you describe your style?
I am influenced by a plethora of art.  I am currently into a simplistic, indie style I guess. As I started with my print making just a year ago, I was more into bold colors, but have since seen more qualities in a simple toned down touch.
Who are some of your favorite artists and sites?
Some of my absolute favorite artists are Naiad and Walter Einsel, Maurice Sendak and Eric Battut.
I enjoy home decor and craft blogs and websites like:

I Love You Beary Much

Why do you work with inspirational quotes on prints?
I set out to make prints which make people smile and inspire.  I always consider if what I am making is purposeful.  There is little that is more important to me than to help others.  If my prints can affect someones day in a positive way, I have done exactly what I’ve set out to do and I couldn’t be happier.
Why do you feel they are important?
Inspirational quotes on prints are uplifting and inspire a better home and life. Days are filled with challenges and the easiest way to deal with them is to consider looking at them through a different perspective. One of the most important things in life that we need to figure out how to do is to take our troubles, which we all will inevitably have, and be able to find the silver lining in them…and there always is one.  Find the silver lining and focus on it and it’s amazing how even the worst of things can all of a sudden seem less awful.

May The Wind Carry You

What is your favorite quote?
“Life is a Beautiful Ride” because even though life might not always be always beautiful, it can be a beautiful ride. Life is short and we only live once,we should have the courage to make more mistakes, be sillier, travel lighter and try to enjoy the ride.
Learn to listen to your heart, it is always talking to you, telling you what you should do. Even if it goes against your logic, always remember to stay true to yourself and what you believe in. Your heart is your desire and ignoring it is ignoring who you are.
